NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme present in every cell you have, involved in energy production at the mitochondrial level and in DNA repair. Levels decline with age, and that decline is what a decade of longevity research has been circling. You cannot usefully supplement NAD+ directly - the molecule is too large to cross the cell membrane intact - so the field works with precursors instead. That is what the two products here are.
Both are stocked in Dublin and dispatched same day on orders before 4pm. If you want the background first, start with NMN vs NR: Which NAD+ Booster Is Right for You?.
NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) sits one step closer to NAD+ in the conversion pathway. It's the compound most associated with the Sinclair-era longevity research and the one most people arrive already asking for. Ours is NMN with Astaxanthin, 60 capsules.
NR (nicotinamide riboside) is a form of vitamin B3 and the more heavily trialled of the two in humans, with a longer commercial history behind it. Ours is Nicotinamide Riboside with Astaxanthin, 60 capsules at 250mg.
Neither is established as better than the other. The honest position is that NR has more human trial data and NMN has more attention, and the research comparing them head to head is thin.
Astaxanthin is a carotenoid antioxidant from microalgae, and it's paired with both precursors deliberately rather than as filler. The reasoning is covered properly in Can You Take NMN and Astaxanthin Together?.
What does NAD+ actually do?
It's a coenzyme involved in cellular energy metabolism and DNA repair. Levels fall as people age, which is why precursors have become an active research area. These are food supplements, not medicines, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Should I take NMN or NR?
There's no settled answer. NR has the longer human trial record; NMN sits one step closer to NAD+ and has the higher profile. Most people pick one and stay on it rather than alternating.
Can you take both together?
There's no known reason not to, but there's also no evidence that doubling up outperforms either on its own, so it's an expensive experiment. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take prescription medication.
How long do people take it for?
These are daily, long-term supplements rather than something with a noticeable day-one effect. Human trials generally run for weeks to months.
Where can I buy NMN in Ireland?
Here. Both ship from our Dublin warehouse with Irish delivery and no customs charges.
For the wider picture, see What is Nicotinamide Riboside? and our breakdown of David Sinclair's supplement stack. The rest of what we carry in this area sits in Longevity & Anti-aging.
